Aubrey Garibay was born in the Philippines and emigrated to the United States, attending Rutgers University in New Jersey. He moved to Houston and now works as a customer service representative. Upon realizing, in his own words, that no man is an island and that it’s not enough to just exist in his new city, Aubrey took steps to form genuine connections, forge strong bonds, and become an active member of his community.

Now as FYP’S Historian, Aubrey hopes to keep building and supporting his community while documenting its adventures, especially while in celebration of Filipino culture with fun activities such as dragonboating, dancing, and social gatherings.

Aubrey is currently an active member of the Island Warriors Dragonboat team, dances Filipino cultural dance with FYP's Cultural Ambassadors, plays Filipino Martial Arts, hones his photography skills by practicing his 3S (“I see. I smile. I shoot.”) and loves geeking out on Star Wars, Star Trek, Marvel, Anime, Magic the Gathering collectibles, and Dungeons and Dragons. He also loves eating noodles, dumplings, and sushi!
