“HUNTR/X don't miss, how it's DONE DONE DONE” - K-Pop Demon Hunters
Ulysse Loquinte, AKA “Yoy” was born in Iligan City, Mindanao, also known as the City of Majestic Waterfalls. At the age of 7, her family moved to Chicago where Yoy was raised and spent much of her life. In 2013, she took a leap of faith and moved to Houston, making it her new home. Initially, her sister encouraged her to join FYP Houston because more performers were needed for the Dragon Boat Festival in 2014. She expected to find herself staying for a few practices and then the big performance - what she found instead was a newfound purpose, a tight-knit community, and a home she didn't realize she was missing - a home she continues to contribute to this very day!
As our Marketing Director, Yoy hopes to help more people discover what FYP Houston is all about - not just as an organization, but as a community of which they can truly feel like a meaningful part. She hopes to reflect the heart behind what FYP does and tell our story in a way that’s both authentic and welcoming, in hopes of inspiring other like-minded individuals to join
In her own words:
“Thank you to everyone who has been part of FYP!! This community exists because of people like you. Joining a new group can be intimidating, but sometimes that first step leads to something special. For me, it led to a second family and I hope others find the same!
Also, if you know me, you know I’m obsessed with sharks. That's it, that's all.”
