FYP Vice President

Elma Loeser

"We're just all doing the best we can with what we have, so respond with curiosity first." - anonymous

Elma Loeser was born in Isabela, Philippines and moved to New York at the age of 2, then transferred to Houston for elementary school (“YAY HOUSTON!”). She underwent the rest of her schooling in Texas and received her Bachelors of Science in Psychology at Baylor University (“Sic’em Bears!”) and then a BSN at UTMB, proving to herself that while she enjoyed both majors, it’s never too late in life to find one’s passion! She currently works in Houston as a Registered Nurse.

Elma was initially recruited by now-president Jodie Nash with promises of fun and excitement, though Elma was more than happy to support not just a lifelong friend but also the organization her friend poured so much effort and goodwill into.

Now as Vice President, Elma’s support for FYP has elevated, and she’s now using this time to learn more about the intricacies of FYP and her current role as VP so that she can best serve her team, FYP’s members, and the Houston community as she prepares for her upcoming term as President!

In her free time, Elma enjoys leisurely runs, though she insists that she’s not fast (and is also quick to emphasize that she prefers the feeling after a run than during)! However, you can catch her running one 5k for every month in 2025 (and a record 2 in May)! Join Elma on her next 5k some time!

In her own words:

“If you need a supportive circle - and even if you don't - FYP is a great place to meet some really cool people and some really cool things.”
