On October 29, the Filipino Young Professionals of Houston hosted the 2016 Houston Filipino Street Festival at the Bayou City Event Center. With over 3,000 guests and 300 volunteers, it was the largest Filipino festival ever in Texas.
FYP's leadership was overwhelmed by the support given by the community since it was the first one done on such a large scale. Highlights of the festival included 5 hours of live entertainment, health and children's pavilions to keep the kids entertained, a visit by the Texans' mascot, Toro, and a plethora of food vendors offering diverse Filipino street foods and carnival fare.
Guests and volunteers came from as far as California to take part in this historical event. FYP's leadership has already begun planning to make next year's Filipino festival even bigger and better!
